Announcing The Fund for Kritika’s Future

We are calling on the entire Kritika community—authors, readers, and supporters—to join us in our first-ever fundraising campaign: The Fund for Kritika’s Future.
Why this campaign matters
For over 25 years, Kritika has promoted cutting-edge research and fostered lively, influential discussions in Russian and Eurasian Studies. What sets us apart is our close connection to authors, referees, and readers—a culture of dedication that sustains our scholarly community.
Unlike many journals, Kritika does not have the backing of a scholarly association. Instead, we rely on Slavica’s generous sharing of subscription and Project MUSE revenues as well as institutional support from Georgetown University, connected with Michael David-Fox’s appointment at the School of Foreign Service and Department of History.
While this support has been invaluable, the long-term institutional future of the journal remains to be secured.
Our goals
With your help, The Fund for Kritika’s Future will:
- Cover rising costs of book procurement, shipping, and translations
- Support conferences that generate special issues
- Establish prizes for outstanding scholarship, especially for first-time authors whose contributions are vital to the field
How you can help
Every contribution—large or small—brings us closer to building a secure financial foundation for Kritika. Together, we can ensure the journal’s vitality for decades to come.
We will share updates on the campaign throughout the year. Thank you for standing with us and investing in Kritika’s future.
